We decided to create these products for our consumers because we want to encourage reading. We reaserched online to rates and saw that in 1976, 40% of middle grade students read 6 books a year for pleasure, but studies in 2022 showed that reading rates have drastically dropped to 13%! We also wanted to our products to have less effect in our carbon footprint, that way we are protecting the Earth. In addition, we want to donate to a child cancer center called the Go4TheGoal Foundation.

Procedure

1. Bookmarks:We make our bookmarks from wood which are laser cutted by the laser cutter found in the Innovation Lab. Then we handpaint them and add details.We then add magnets to the backs of some of the bookmarks.
2. Origami:Our origami is made out of colored and white paper.We use youtube tutorials to make them.
3. Home Decor:The home decor we make is made out of non-plastic clay.We then take the clay mold it in to different shapes.
4. Reading Companion:The reading companions are made out of 2 thick pipe cleaners.They are then folded and bent to create the dog's body.Then we add eyes,nose, and tongue to the dogs.
